Employer of Record Philippines: FAQs
What is an Employer of Record?
An Employer of Record (EOR) is the local legal employer under the agreed employment structure. It manages employment contracts, payroll, taxes, and statutory obligations, while your business directs daily work and performance.
Can I hire in the Philippines without establishing my own company there?
Yes. HeyBuddy’s Employer of Record service lets you build your Philippine team without establishing your own local employing entity. Your service agreement sets out the legal employer, employment responsibilities, and service scope.
What if I don’t know which role to hire?
Start with the tasks or business challenges you need help with. A consultation can explore potential roles, required skills, and a suitable hiring approach.
Can I bring someone I’ve already selected?
Yes, you can discuss a candidate you already have in mind. Any employment setup would depend on the approved arrangement and applicable requirements.
Who manages the employee’s daily work?
Your business defines responsibilities, sets priorities, and directs daily work. Employment administration belongs to the designated employer under the agreed arrangement.
What employment costs should I expect?
Budget for salary, applicable employer contributions, 13th-month pay and other statutory entitlements, the EOR service fee, and any optional recruitment, benefits, or equipment. Request an itemized proposal; no fixed price or savings estimate is promised on this page.
What is the difference between EOR and outsourcing?
With EOR, you direct your team’s daily work. With managed BPO, HeyBuddy manages an agreed process or outsourced function. They are different service models.
Which Philippine benefits and contributions apply?
Applicable requirements can include SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, payroll withholding, 13th-month pay for eligible employees, leave, and holiday or premium pay where required. Eligibility and calculations depend on the employee and current law. Supplemental benefits are separately agreed.
How long does EOR onboarding take?
Timing depends on role eligibility, the approved employment structure, signed agreements, candidate documentation, and payroll cutoffs. Recruitment adds a separate timeline. We confirm a realistic start date after reviewing your requirements—not before.
Does EOR remove every legal or tax obligation?
No. EOR does not automatically remove your business’s tax, permanent-establishment, data-protection, or other legal obligations. The arrangement must be reviewed for your activities, with independent legal or tax advice where needed.
